Why you missed an alert
Work through these in order. It is rarely the monitors.
Almost every missed alert comes down to one of five things, roughly in this order of likelihood.
1. You do not hold the role
Alerts are opt in per set and per store. Holding a region role alone pings you for nothing.
Open your regional channel and check the buttons you have actually pressed. Click your own name in the member list to see your current roles.
- United States: #pokemon-us
- Canada: #pokemon-ca
- Europe / UK: #pokemon-eu
- Australia: #pokemon-au
2. Discord was open on your desktop
Discord will not send a mobile notification while the desktop app is focused. If you were at your computer but not looking at Discord, the phone stays silent.
This is Discord behavior, not something we control. If it keeps costing you drops, use Moonitor, which notifies independently and can sound an alarm.
3. The channel is muted
Muting a category mutes every channel inside it, including ones you added later. Check the channel itself and the category above it.
4. It sold out before you got there
Some drops last seconds. The alert fired, you got it, and the stock was gone before the page loaded. That is not a fault in the alert, though it is small comfort.
#buy-success is a useful reality check for what is currently gettable in your region.
5. We do not cover that store
If a retailer you buy from is not in #monitor-list, we are not watching it. Ask in #create-ticket and it can be considered. Most of the current list came from member requests.
Still nothing after all that?
Open a ticket. Tell us which set and store you expected, and roughly when. Staff can see whether the monitor fired and whether your roles would have caught it.
