Moonitor: alerts outside Discord
Push notifications and alarms that work when Discord will not.
Moonitor is a separate app that reads the channels you choose and notifies you independently of Discord. It solves two problems Discord cannot: notifications while Discord is closed or focused elsewhere, and alarms loud enough to wake you for a specific drop.
Full setup is in #moonitor-setup.
Getting set up
- Download the app: iOS or Android
- Sign in with Discord
- Toggle on the channels you want alerts from
- Tap a channel to enable alarms and set keywords
- Use the … menu, bottom right, for alarm sounds and timing. Looped works best for anything you actually need to wake up for
Keywords are the real feature
Keywords filter within a channel, which is how you get one alert that matters instead of forty that do not.
- Leave it blank to receive everything from that channel
- Add a positive keyword to receive only matching messages, for example
+poster - Add a negative keyword to suppress matches you do not care about
If a set channel is too busy but you only want one product from it, this is the tool for that job. It is finer grained than roles, which work at set and store level.
Worth knowing
Moonitor is a third party app, not ours, so its own settings and permissions apply. If notifications stop, check the app's permissions at operating system level first.
It reads the channels you can already see, so it is not a way around roles. Set your roles up first, then point Moonitor at what arrives.
