In-store stock checks: the commands

The in-store tools tell you what a physical store near you is holding right now. You run them in #instore-stock-check.

The commands

Look up one retailer across the stores near a postcode:

/stock-lookup retailer: zip:

Or query a specific retailer by product code:

/instore bestbuy sku: zip:
/instore dollar_general upc: zip:

Some retailers use a SKU, others a UPC. The distinction matters: passing a UPC where a SKU is expected returns nothing rather than an error.

Where the codes come from

#sku-list holds the codes for current sets, broken down by retailer and product type: Elite Trainer Boxes, booster boxes, booster bundles, blister packs, sleeved packs.

Copy the code for the retailer you are querying. A Best Buy SKU will not work against another retailer.

Walmart is not one of the retailers you can check. Its card stock is handled by third-party restockers and never enters Walmart's own inventory system, so there is nothing to look up.

What comes back

A list of stores near your postcode with a stock number beside each one. See Reading a stock check result for what those numbers really mean, because a zero is not always a zero.

Sharing what you find

If you find stock, #report-a-restock tells everyone else. Reports also get forwarded into the relevant state forum in #state-channels, so locals see it.
